Indian International School (Cotonou)
The Indian International School Benin was established in May 2008 under the aegis of the Indian Association of Benin for students of all nationalities. IISB is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi via affiliation number 7830001 and follows the CBSE curriculum. With classes running from Playgroup uptil Grade 10, we have Indian, Beninese and Nigerian students studying at IISB. Having initially started with one building comprising of 11 rooms, IISB now is running in 2 adjacent buildings each class being taught separately. The academic session of the school starts in April and ends in March. The summer vacations fall in June/July (7-8 weeks) and the Winter break (3 weeks) in December-January. The School aims at providing an environment that promotes self-discipline, confidence and academic excellence. It is a co-educational school using the English Language for students from the age of 2 to 14 years. French is taught to all students from Gr 1 and above. The Indian students are also taught Hindi whereas Non-Indian students are taught Spanish.
